In Memory of Jeffrey

To say that February was horrible would be an understatement. For those who don’t know, there was a second death in my family.

Flashback to the 1990s–the culdesac of redacted. buzzed with laughter and games; it was THE place to be for us kids. Jeffrey had always been a big part of it all. He was funny and kind no matter how silly my Lion King shirts were or how frizzy my hair was; it didn’t matter. There was always a fervor of excitement over baseball and football, and trading cards was serious business back then. He had the crown jewel, #80 Jerry Rice of the San Francisco 49ers. I traded whatever he wanted for it because I *had* to have it. When the big day came, he put the card in a nice plastic case, which it still resides in to this day. 

I miss you, Jeffrey. I have always treasured my Jerry Rice card. 

I have many fond memories of us all piling in Tim’s giant, wood paneled station wagon, but none stand out as much as a trip to San Francisco one year. As Tim drove down the winding streets, Jeffery rolled down his window with a smirk.

“BUNGOOOOOOWWWWW!” he shouted at the pedestrians.* There was no containing the laughter that followed! I’ll never forget that trip, and I will forever cherish this memory.

*This is what he shouted to the best of my memory.

SGS: Creativity!

Looking at Heather’s wonderful prompts, I just realized that April is almost over. Is it really the last Sunday of the month already!? How did that happen? Even with quarantine it feels like it just zipped by!  This week’s Seriously Geeky Sundays theme hits close to home, and I am super excited about it. Just look at Club High Castle!  High Castle is the one fandom where I’ve felt like I’ve been allowed to flourish. High Castle is Coming to SDCC Again!

News on the High Castle Front!  High Castle is going to be at San Diego Comic Con again! Going off of last year’s SDCC appearance, we can expect some hints about Season 4, a release date, and a trailer! I have no idea what to predict about S4, so I’m going to hold all of my theories and speculations until after the panel. I CAN’T WAIT! Yet, it is also a bittersweet feeling knowing that this is the final season of the show that has been a huge part of my life since 2015. Never before has a TV show captured my imagination like Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle.   Here are the details as posted by the official @HighCastleTV Twitter account: When: Sat, July 20th at 4:15 PM I am assuming this is PST, so it will be 7:15PM for us East Coasters.
