Strolling with News Reels

A stroll down revision lane

I’ve started the revision/editing process for my NaNo novel. This is going to a be a slowly–very slowly–but surely project. As long as I keep up with it and do a little bit each week, it will see the light of day. I think working from an outline was the best idea I’ve ever had. The ending was planned out and written down before I even started writing!

I’m thinking about drawing a comic of one of the chapters. The chapter is unique in that it can stand alone as a short story. I’ve drawn several sketches so far. Here is one of them:

From the burpleberry news reel

Mr. Burple Berry completed his first ever Fiction Friday on twitter. He successfully wrote a story in 140 characters. The wingless ding is sitting back and enjoying the sights and sounds of Earth while he plots his next story. He dropped by to give us a copy and next week’s prompt. Word has it that he is spending his lazy Sunday afternoon doing word search puzzles.

His boot crunches into a gritty substance. The brawny alien before him jabbers in gibberish; the translator catches it. “Welcome to Earth.” – Mr. Burple Berry

Mr. Burple Berry invites you to join him next Friday, March 8th, for another round. This week’s prompt is “Meteor.”

Return to Tomorrow: July

I am losing the War Against Busyism ; it is such an unfortunate truth, but that doesn’t mean I was idle while waiting in the trenches. I was able to scribble out a few things for the month of July. A patriotic prelude to my new avatar Pencil drawings are such fun! I have plans to make a digital version of this ink sketch. I’m a Fighter Pilot – The image I created my avatar out of. It’s too wide to post on here, so here’s the link! 7/3 books read. Thank FSM for lunch breaks.

High Castle is Coming to SDCC Again!

News on the High Castle Front!  High Castle is going to be at San Diego Comic Con again! Going off of last year’s SDCC appearance, we can expect some hints about Season 4, a release date, and a trailer! I have no idea what to predict about S4, so I’m going to hold all of my theories and speculations until after the panel. I CAN’T WAIT! Yet, it is also a bittersweet feeling knowing that this is the final season of the show that has been a huge part of my life since 2015. Never before has a TV show captured my imagination like Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle.   Here are the details as posted by the official @HighCastleTV Twitter account: When: Sat, July 20th at 4:15 PM I am assuming this is PST, so it will be 7:15PM for us East Coasters. Where: Room 6A I truly wish I could be there! Costume designer Cate Adair posted some details on Instagram, and I WISH I COULD TELEPORT THERE. Okay. Deep breath 😉 There will be a costume designers guild booth (#734) in the main conv...

A Quick Post

I have some good news! The deadline for the contest has been extended to 25 May! The cover is waiting patiently for 31 May. I am excited about all of this! Part of me is tempted to post the evolution of the cover from the first sketches, to the first design, and finally to the final image. It is crazy to think that the idea I had in 2010 has turned into a full length novel! Well, enough cryptic words about the cover! Here is what I’ve been up to lately in the world of art: If Babylon 5 was an anime…and had a spin off series dedicated to the Psi Corps!  ** NOTE ** I used google translate for the words “Psi” and “Corps,” so the translation might not be 100% accurate.  I periodically run drawings for free commissions on Facbook! This was for the winner of my St. Patrick’s Day drawing.  More Babylon 5 fanart. This is one of the advantages of painting, if you want to decorate your walls with something obscure, you can! Sparkly space hi...
