Inner Child

Happy Easter for those who are celebrating it today!

I found a new twitter account to follow. Its theme? Journal prompts! Today’s blog is based off of a prompt by @journalprompts.

“Your inner child”

I let my inner child out every day. I have a hard time accepting the fact that I’m 32 years old. I certainly don’t feel like I’m in my thirties. I still collect action figures. I follow Grumpy Cat on Twitter, I paint my fingernails purple, and I still dress up—cosplay is the proper term for adults. Heck, I still have all of my football cards that I collected when I was young!

I’ve long asked myself if I should finally get rid of the action figures and costumes and finally step into the proper adult world of careerism, coffee guzzling, and bland pant suits. The fact of the matter is that I’ve got a job, and I do enjoy a good cup of coffee, but those aren’t the sole focus of my life, and I don’t ever want them to be.

Even if I got rid of everything, I’d just end up finding an acceptable grown up replacement like sports action figures, sports attire, and artistic statues. At the end of the day, it all comes down to this: happiness. I like coming home to my haven of action figures. I like sporting purple fingernails. I like showing off my fandoms by wearing Star Trek or Babylon 5 pins.

Let your inner child thrive.
Don’t let responsibilities slide.
Seize the day,
especially when your hair turns grey.

The Burpleberry Newsstand

Mr. Burple Berry is busy investigating Easter. While he is searching for Easter eggs and munching candy, the newsstand is obligated to post next week’s prompt: music. We hope to see you on Friday, the 5th, for another round of #FictionFriday!
Last week’s story:

Return to Tomorrow: July

I am losing the War Against Busyism ; it is such an unfortunate truth, but that doesn’t mean I was idle while waiting in the trenches. I was able to scribble out a few things for the month of July. A patriotic prelude to my new avatar Pencil drawings are such fun! I have plans to make a digital version of this ink sketch. I’m a Fighter Pilot – The image I created my avatar out of. It’s too wide to post on here, so here’s the link! 7/3 books read. Thank FSM for lunch breaks.

High Castle is Coming to SDCC Again!

News on the High Castle Front!  High Castle is going to be at San Diego Comic Con again! Going off of last year’s SDCC appearance, we can expect some hints about Season 4, a release date, and a trailer! I have no idea what to predict about S4, so I’m going to hold all of my theories and speculations until after the panel. I CAN’T WAIT! Yet, it is also a bittersweet feeling knowing that this is the final season of the show that has been a huge part of my life since 2015. Never before has a TV show captured my imagination like Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle.   Here are the details as posted by the official @HighCastleTV Twitter account: When: Sat, July 20th at 4:15 PM I am assuming this is PST, so it will be 7:15PM for us East Coasters. Where: Room 6A I truly wish I could be there! Costume designer Cate Adair posted some details on Instagram, and I WISH I COULD TELEPORT THERE. Okay. Deep breath 😉 There will be a costume designers guild booth (#734) in the main conv...

A Quick Post

I have some good news! The deadline for the contest has been extended to 25 May! The cover is waiting patiently for 31 May. I am excited about all of this! Part of me is tempted to post the evolution of the cover from the first sketches, to the first design, and finally to the final image. It is crazy to think that the idea I had in 2010 has turned into a full length novel! Well, enough cryptic words about the cover! Here is what I’ve been up to lately in the world of art: If Babylon 5 was an anime…and had a spin off series dedicated to the Psi Corps!  ** NOTE ** I used google translate for the words “Psi” and “Corps,” so the translation might not be 100% accurate.  I periodically run drawings for free commissions on Facbook! This was for the winner of my St. Patrick’s Day drawing.  More Babylon 5 fanart. This is one of the advantages of painting, if you want to decorate your walls with something obscure, you can! Sparkly space hi...
