End of Month: August

As briefly mentioned in my previous post earlier today, I got a little busy this month, so my monthly End of Month update has run rather late!

I only have one image for August, but it was a complicated piece and something I’ve never tried before. I wanted to try my hand at making a fake comic book page. I’ve made several fake comic book covers in the past, so I wanted to see if I could do a full page to gauge my interest in creating comic book art.

Click on the image to see a larger version! It’s yet some more Babylon 5 fan art. It depicts scenes that quite possibly happened behind the scenes in the show.

I had a lot of fun with it, but comics involve a lot of detail and characters, so this may not be something I do often (unless, of course, I win the lottery and can retire to self publish my own comic books!).

In other news
I’ve finished 20 of the 21 illustrations!

My counter should reflect that, but no matter how many times I refresh, it keeps showing the outdated one.

Once I finish the illustrations, I will need to figure out how to get them from my sketchbook to my computer. I don’t have a scanner, so I am going to try using my tripod, camera (the same one I use to take pictures of my sketches before I digitally color them), and a hell of a lot of daylight. I’d rather test that to see if it works before spending money on having a copy shop scan them for me or purchasing my own scanner.

Return to Tomorrow: July

I am losing the War Against Busyism ; it is such an unfortunate truth, but that doesn’t mean I was idle while waiting in the trenches. I was able to scribble out a few things for the month of July. A patriotic prelude to my new avatar Pencil drawings are such fun! I have plans to make a digital version of this ink sketch. I’m a Fighter Pilot – The image I created my avatar out of. It’s too wide to post on here, so here’s the link! 7/3 books read. Thank FSM for lunch breaks.

SGS: Creativity!

Looking at Heather’s wonderful prompts, I just realized that April is almost over. Is it really the last Sunday of the month already!? How did that happen? Even with quarantine it feels like it just zipped by!  This week’s Seriously Geeky Sundays theme hits close to home, and I am super excited about it. As you all know, I’m an artist who loves to draw, paint, write, and sew!  26th April – Creativity What does creativity in fandoms/geeky interests mean to you? EVERYTHING. Just look at Club High Castle!  High Castle is the one fandom where I’ve felt like I’ve been allowed to flourish. The countless hours and dedication I’ve put into the things I’ve created has been appreciated by both fans and the cast and crew. I have never experienced anything like it, and it has genuinely made me happy over the years.  I’ve been in other fandoms where art and things just slipped by unnoticed–not that I’m seeking attention, but knowing that there are people out there who enjoy my...

High Castle is Coming to SDCC Again!

News on the High Castle Front!  High Castle is going to be at San Diego Comic Con again! Going off of last year’s SDCC appearance, we can expect some hints about Season 4, a release date, and a trailer! I have no idea what to predict about S4, so I’m going to hold all of my theories and speculations until after the panel. I CAN’T WAIT! Yet, it is also a bittersweet feeling knowing that this is the final season of the show that has been a huge part of my life since 2015. Never before has a TV show captured my imagination like Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle.   Here are the details as posted by the official @HighCastleTV Twitter account: When: Sat, July 20th at 4:15 PM I am assuming this is PST, so it will be 7:15PM for us East Coasters. Where: Room 6A I truly wish I could be there! Costume designer Cate Adair posted some details on Instagram, and I WISH I COULD TELEPORT THERE. Okay. Deep breath 😉 There will be a costume designers guild booth (#734) in the main conv...
